Black Pepper Droppings

In case you have never seen cockroach droppings, know that they will leave droppings that will look more like black pepper or coffee grounds. So keep an eye out when going into the kitchen, since this is where the cockroaches main food source will be. Do you see what appears to be any droppings on your counters, stove, or around the base of your cabinets along the floor? Even if it does not appear to be a lot, it is a clear sign that there are cockroaches in your home.

Strange Smell

By the time you are able to smell the cockroaches, you already have a fairly large infestation in your home. Hopefully you will catch the problem before it gets to that point, but if not, you want to remember that a musky smell in the home can be a huge sign of an insect problem. You might notice that this smell is stronger in some rooms than in others. This would be due to the fact that there are more cockroaches in those rooms than in others, such as in the kitchen where all of the food is located for them to feast.

Egg Casings

Do not make the mistake of assuming that it is just some sort of garbage you missed when you were cleaning. Empty cockroach eggs casings are thin, almost see-through, and are brownish in color. It is also oval shaped as it carried a few cockroach eggs in it. Whether you see one or dozens of egg casings, you need to call an exterminator. Never assume that a cockroach problem is not actually a problem because you have only spotted one or two egg casings. Cockroaches breed quickly and the infestation will be out of control before you know it.

As you can see, there are some clear signs that you need to look for when trying to determine whether you have a cockroach infestation. The moment you find yourself believing that you have a problem with an insect,  you need to contact a professional pest control service.
